Li River Cruise Tickets in Guilin: Official Booking, Pier and 2026 Sailing Changes
Quick decision · Checked October 12, 2026
Guilin's official Li River authority sells its celebrated scenic-section cruises through a named WeChat service account. Holiday presale schedules change by announcement, and high water can suspend sailings.
Find the official operator before comparing offers
The Guilin Li River Scenic Area’s own ticketing notice identifies the 漓江售票处 (Li River Ticket Office) official WeChat service account for the flagship Mopanshan (or Zhujiang) → Yangshuo scenic-section cruise. This is not every raft or short sightseeing boat advertised in Yangshuo.
First choose your actual sailing route and pier. Two operators offering a ‘Li River cruise’ may be selling quite different boat types, durations, transfers or embarkation points.
Why published booking windows can mislead
For the May Day holiday in 2026, the official management announcement provided a 10-day presale window, with ticket information refreshed at 11:00 and 16:00. Its January 2026 Spring Festival notice used a different 20-day window. These are holiday-specific schedules, not a fixed year-round rule to quote without checking.
If you will travel during a holiday or peak weekend, inspect the operator’s notices for that date instead of assuming someone else’s presale screenshot applies.
Book with the right traveler identity and departure plan
Prepare the desired cruise date, names, ID/passport details and contact channel before opening the ticket system. The official May holiday guidance recommends pre-filling common travelers (常用游客) under My (我的) to reduce booking time. We have not authenticated a foreign-passport checkout on the live account, so avoid promising that every overseas number or passport format works in all app versions.
Check which pier is on the issued confirmation—磨盘山 (Mopanshan) and 竹江 (Zhujiang) are distinct starting points. Include the transfer from central Guilin to the correct pier in your day schedule. Verify cruise class, boarding time and refund conditions from the actual order.
What if heavy rain closes the river?
On July 6, 2026, the scenic-area operator published a temporary suspension notice after maritime restrictions caused by rising water. That dated example proves that an online ticket does not make sailing immune to weather or river-control decisions.
Check recent official notices the afternoon before departure and again before traveling to the pier. Keep the booking channel’s refund/help details. Do not book a connecting train or flight so tightly that a delayed boat makes the whole itinerary fail.
How to choose between the full cruise and a short visit
| You want to… | Check before purchase |
|---|---|
| Travel from Guilin to Yangshuo along the scenery | Flagship Mopanshan/Zhujiang → Yangshuo vessel and actual docking point |
| Make a brief river-view stop | Whether the advertised shorter trip is a different product |
| Use a foreign passport | Actual booking identity options and original passport requirement |
| Travel in rainy season | Operator sailing notices, cancellations and alternate land transport |
| Compare third-party prices | Inclusions: boat class, pier transfer, insurance, cancellation and route |
Frequently asked questions
Is a Yangshuo bamboo raft the same as the main Li River cruise?
No. Compare exact route, vessel and entry/boarding point before paying.
Do tickets always go on sale 10 days ahead?
No. The 10-day example is explicitly from the May 2026 holiday notice; other date ranges can differ.
Can the cruise be cancelled because of water levels?
Yes. The official operator documented a high-water suspension in July 2026; check current notices and the issuing channel.
